TTC Tezos Event Calendar Banner Contest: Guidelines & Contest Rules

TheTezosCommunity (TTC) built the Tezos Event Calendar at https://thetezos.com and automated an X profile to promote all the events submitted by the community at https://twitter.com/TezosEvents. Now it’s time to have a captivating Banner that represents the community-sourced service we are all building together here at TTC’s Hubpage.

For that purpose, we are opening a contest to all members of the community, to create and vote for the new Banners of the Tezos Event Calendar profile at X!

This document describes the official requirements, rules and guidelines of the TTC Tezos Event Calendar Banner Contest.

By entering, participants agree to be bound by these contest rules. Violating any rule may eliminate participants’ eligibility. TTC has the right to disqualify any entrant at any time at its sole discretion.

Submission Guidelines: Eligibility & How to Enter

  1. Contest submissions open on April 8th, 2024, and close on April 28h, 2024 at 23:59 UTC. Late submissions will not be considered.
  2. The contest is open to all artists, designers and Tezos/TTC enthusiasts.
  3. Contestants are permitted to work in groups; however, only one (1) prize will be awarded regardless of group size.
  4. All entries must be submitted in the form at TTC’s Hubpage https://thetezos.com/banner-contest.
    Submissions must include at least:
    1. a valid Tezos wallet address;
    2. a Twitter handle of the person who designed the logo.
  5. Maximum of 3 submissions per person is acceptable.
  6. There is no fee to enter the contest.
  7. There is no need to mint the banner.


Banner Design: Guidelines & Parameters

The purpose of this contest is to design a banner for the X/Twitter profile of the Tezos Event Calendar, NOT a piece of art nor an NFT!

  1. The banner is NOT for TTC’ profile. It’s for the Events Calendar, a service for all Tezos community, so there is no need to include anything TTC related, it should only be Events focused.
  2. The banner’s design should however, reflect the values in which TTC built the Events Calendar, like community driven and community-sourced, helpful, neutral, inclusive, friendly and fun. TTC motto is #StrongerTogether, a community for the community and we wish the banner to reflect that too.
  3. The banner must be original, and memorable.
  4. The banner should work both in light and dark mode.
  5. Entries must be submitted as:
    1. jpg, gif, png, pdf, webp, files with the highest resolution possible;
    2. max file size: 100MB;
    3. aspect ratio 3:1.


Intellectual Property

  1. Entrants affirm their submissions are their own original work, have not been copied from others or from previous designs, including their own, and do not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity.
  2. Submissions become the sole property of TTC and may be used for any TTC purposes, including, but not limited to, display on websites, social media platforms, posters, and other materials.
  3. TTC shall have the right to adapt, edit, modify, mint or otherwise use the winning submissions in part or in its entirety in whatever manner it deems appropriate.
  4. TTC reserves the right to use any other entry for promotional purposes in the future.
  5. If the winner is determined to have violated any rules they will be required to forfeit or return the prize, even if the determination is made after the prize has been awarded.


Contest Guidelines: Voting & Prizes

  1. The selected banners will be displayed and up for community voting during nine (9) days in TTC Hubpage https://thetezos.com/banner-contest
  2. All Tezonians will be able to vote in five (5) banners they feel represents better the Tezos Events Calendar. The ten (10) entries most voted by the community will go through to the next phase.
    Each vote will count as an entry for a 20 tez raffle. 
             a. only 1 (one) vote per wallet allowed;
             b. only wallets with > 7 (seven) days can vote.
  3. Tezos-warriors, the members holding The Untold Legend of Freya & Fenrir NFTs will vote in three (3) banners on this stage to select the five (5) best entries.
  4. Each Tezos address can vote only one time.
  5. The TTC team will determine the winner, 2nd and 3rd places, and the two honorable mentions.
  6. Entries will be judged on their visual appeal, adherence to the concept prompting the contest, and quality of design.
  7. The top 5 finalists and the winner of the Tezos Event Calendar Contest will be notified via x/twitter and announced on TTC X/Twitter Space on May 9th, 2024.
  8. The prizes will be in tez ($XTZ) and sent to the top 5 entries on May 10th, 2024.
  9. The 1st prize is 200 tez, the 2nd is 100 tez, the 3rd is 75 tez, and 25 tez to each honorable mention. The prizes remain the same regardless of the size of the team submitting the awarded entries.

Update: The initial prize pot sponsored by TTC was 175 tez. Due to Mek.txt and another Tezonian’s donations for the Contest, the current prize pot is 444 tez. The  number of winners mentioned in point 8. and the prizes value mentioned in point 9. were updated in 22-04-2024. We also decided to reward the community for their participation as voters, so we introduced a 20 tez prize in point 2. in this same date.

Disclaimer

  1. TTC is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or otherwise unusable entries, including entries that are lost or unusable due to computer, internet, or electronic problems.
  2. TTC reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest and award the prize by alternate means if fraud or technical failure is determined at any time by TTC, including after the submission window has closed.
  3. TTC is not liable, for the purpose of winner and prize notification and delivery, in the event the contest winner has provided incorrect, outdated, or otherwise invalid contact information.
